at a loss for words…but not projects!

Last month I reached my seventh year of blogging. Seven years, wow! Yes, the posts over the last year or two have been rather sporatic, I’ll admit, but I write to my blog all the time, in my head. Know what I mean? In my dreams I’m typing away, taking and posting photos, and sipping coffee while enjoying my morning blog read time. Problem is, that time never seems to come anymore. And then there’s Facebook, which seems to be sucking up a lot of blog time for many of us these days.

However, despite the lack of posts, I really have been knitting and spinning up a storm. The last two posts have featured some of my latest knitting projects, but what about the spinning, you say? I’m glad you asked! Here are my favorite singles ever–

This skein of singles was spun from roving that is a of blend of Targhee, Rambouillet and other low micron count wool that I purchased at the Oregon Flock & Fiber Festival in Canby, Oregon in September, 2008 from The Fiber Addict. This roving is in their ”Color Cravings Handpainted Top” product section, and I believe the colorway I have here is African Violet, or English Garden–something like that. Anyway, I love, love, love the results of the skein after the twist was set.

The whole thing measured about 210 yards of lace-weight yarn, and was sent to a dear friend for her birthday. I know she’ll have fun knitting it up into something special!

This was the first yarn I spun up on my new Schacht Matchless wheel. You probably don’t even remember my getting that wheel do you? It was on layaway for two years, and I just got it out before Christmas. Ahhh, it spins like buttah, baby. Like buttah.

Now my fingers are itching to get off the computer and get back to the wheel. If you don’t spin yet….what are you waiting for? ;)

Happy Bloggiversary, my Sweet! Remember, you were the 2nd blogger I ever met, only two minutes after my first, who met me out in the parking lot — Sandy! :D

I blog in my mind (what’s left of it) all the time and I hate the new facebook and have too many back problems (might be resolved soon) to spin. But your spinning looks so much better with the new wheel!! Congratulations!

Spinning? Your’s is truly lovely. Me? My stash is already too vast. I’d better knit it down before diving into another fiber related hobby. Nice to see the posts!
