The Carmen Banana Sock Monkey kit from KnitPicks is the cutest thing I’ve seen come down the Picks pike in awhile. How cute is she in that twin set?
I don’t have a little girl in my life to knit for, but I could knit a Carmen up and put it away for a future granddaughter. Or is that just asking to be a grandma sooner than I need to be? Hmmm.

hmmmm….. I know a few little girls who would love that
I agree, I love her too, I wish they sold the pattern independantly from the yarn, I am not so hot on the colors…

Hahaha, Heidi, I’ll bet you DO know a little girl or two who would love this doll!
I’m going to have to get the kit, no matter the colors. It’s just too darned cute to resist.

Jill, I think we need a few more social networking sites to keep track of each other on.

Oh, come on. Admit it. You want to knit it for yourself.

I’ve been working on knitting Carmen. One thing you’ll need to learn if you haven’t already, how to cast on and knit TOE-UP type socks. Silly I know, but maybe I’ll write a TOP down pattern for a generic Sock Monkey. Oh, you’ll also have to learn the Short Row Heel method, or Carmen’s mouth won’t look right.
