How did I get so lucky? Thank you, thank you, thank you Bonne Marie for tagging me as a Rockin’ Blogger! Bonne Marie’s blog is one of the first I started reading almost five years ago, and she is such an inspiration. Her Ribbi Cardi is next on my list of Must Knits. Keep on rockin’ on, Bonne Marie!
I’m tagging local rockin’ blog girl Jocele over at Knitting On Call as a Rockin’ Blogger. Jocele went above and beyond this weekend at the Sheep In the Foothills event. She was the only spinner to show up at the learning booth, allowing people (mainly kids) to sit down and try her beautiful Rose wheel. Yeah, I know. It hurts just to think about it, doesn’t it? Jocele volunteered her skill and her wheel with such an open heart and attitude. You ROCK, girlfriend!
More on this weekend’s Sheep in the Foothills event later—I’m still looking for the USB cord so I upload photos to my laptop…
In the meantime, I’ll show you a paper bead experiment using patterned paper I found at Michael’s. These little beads turned out so nice–they have an Oriental feel about them. To make them more durable, I covered them with a layer of glossy Mod Podge and strung them onto a toothpick placed over a shot glass to dry.
More shrinky-dink efforts–what has surprised me most is how the pre-baked faint, translucent color becomes bright and vibrant upon baking. The charm on the right would have been SO much cuter if I hadn’t colored the purple petals over and over. But that’s what experimentation is all about, isn’t it?
Here’s to making your Monday a good one–rock on, my friends!

I knitted the Ribby Cardi for a much smaller friend and LOVED knitting it with the exception of one thing, she picked black yarn. Totally completely black yarn. The yarn was great, can’t remember what it was but it was great.
I’d knit that thing again in a heartbeat. Actually I asked my friend if she wanted another one. In any color but black.
Like nearly all my sweaters I knitted it without seams in the body and did the sleeves in the round. I did the all ribbed version and once it got going it went fabulous.
I must admit though, I didn’t put the zipper in. I let her have that joy.

Oh my goodness. Thank you!!! I’m not sure Rosie has recovered yet from all the attention she got on Saturday. But she’ll do fine. I have faith in her.
