orange is for Monday
It's official - the kitchen/dining room has been turned in to a wool processing factory. It makes me smile to see the soft fluffy batts on the counter, and the table, and the sideboard, and in the sink...I wish I could tell you with absolute certainty what kind of wool this is. I believe it's Border Leicester, but to be perfectly honest, after washing, dyeing and carding this wonderful stuff I've pretty much forgotten the breed it came from. I know it came from a sheep, and I know it's wool. I'm sure that it has a medium-to-coarse staple: I can say that with certainty because I'm not very good at spinning the fine stuff (read Merino), so my friend generally gives me bags o'medium to coarse. She actually had a few of her sheep bred to those with more coarse wool so I would have something to spin. How did I get so lucky?
This creamsicle orange is going to be mailed out soon to a friend, along with various other vibrant colors. That's part of what's so much fun about this -- the realization that I'm not the only one in the world who is wool-obsessed. :) Have a wooly Monday, everyone!

Indeed, orange is for everyday.

Nice work! Look how fluffy and delicious.
It is beautiful! I love orange, ever since my 1st grade picture day outfit. It was an orange wool plaid jumper with an orange short sleeve wool turtleneck. I know SHORT SLEEVE WOOL TURTLENECK? What were they thinking? But I loved it. Wish my Mom had kept it forever. And I think your roving has my Orange Manos beat for florescence.
