the graduates

Graduation took place about a month ago. My oldest son Nick and my friend Sharyn's daughter were in the same class at the same high school. Twenty-five years ago Sharyn and I graduated from the same high school. Do we do *everything* together, you ask? Yep--just about! It's a wonderful thing, indeed.

Nick and Alexa, ready for the future

Alexa is headed out of state for school this fall, and she will be greatly missed. Her influence upon my middle son Michael is a good one, and they share a close friendship. Fortunately she isn't going *too* far away, and we'll be making some road trips to go see her.

Michael and Alexa, two crazy goofuses

Speaking of that sugardoodle Alexa, she recently returned from a trip to Ecuador, where she and two friends went to visit someone who was a foreign exchange student here in Idaho last year. Imagine my surprise when she announced that she had brought me back a gift--a wooly gift! A gorgeous Ecuadorian Alpaca shawl!

It's so beautiful and soft!

Since the weather around here has been in the high 90's, this wonderful shawl won't be seeing any wear-time for awhile, but wait until Fall, baby! :)

So cool to see those connections that last through the years. Hopefully, well into the future as well.

Lovely kids, such smiles. Hope everything went OK at the hearing. Why do kids feel the need to be bad like that? It so sad to see them channel energy into such negative endeavors. Hope all is well.
