a bit of Maryland in Idaho

The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival took place in early May of this year, and I was pretty envious of the attendees. See, I traveled across the country to the Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival last October in New York, and had an incredible time. Meeting some wonderful blogging friends, making new ones, absorbing the beautiful countryside and the wool. OH baby, the WOOL!

Well, I have some pretty terrific and very generous friends who knew of my MS&W yearnings. That knit-spinner extraordinaire Claudia sent me a wonderful batt of roving in shades of pink, mauve and purple, along with a mousepad that will serve to remind me of the kindness of friends. And if that wasn't fun enough, sweetie-pie Greta sends me some amazing hand-dyed deep blue and green pencil roving! Is it any wonder I want to hurry up and finish that honking rug? I'm dying to work with these beautiful fibers!

Warning! Sentimental shit ahead! Warning! - I tell you what, having these great women think of me with such kindness really does fill my heart to overflowing, and geez, I'm even tearing up now just thinking of it. This knitblog community is really something. You all do more for me than you know. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. xxoo
